You’re not alone. Our annual Bible Reading Plan is designed for people at every stage, including those just getting started. It’s simple, structured, and easy to follow.

How Do I Become a Christian?

You believe you’re a good person. You’ve always tried to do what’s right. But you still feel empty, unsatisfied, and alone. You may have turned to drinking, drugs, sex, money, partying, or relationships to fill this unexplained need. But something is still missing.

There is only One who can fill the void in your life—God.
He is the answer, and He has given us a manual for life: the Bible.

In the Bible, God gives us good news and tells us how we can know Him and fill the emptiness in our lives. When sin entered the world, we were separated from God because He is perfect and will not allow imperfection in His presence. However, God loves us so much that He didn’t want to be apart from us. So He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and then suffer the punishment we deserve for our sins by dying on the cross. Because our punishment has been paid, we are seen by God as perfect.

That’s good news! But there’s more… three days later, Jesus conquered death by rising from the dead, allowing us to also defeat death and have eternal life in heaven with Him!

The ABC’s of Becoming a Christian

ADMIT to God that you’re a sinner and ask for His forgiveness.

  • “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and accept God’s gift of forgiveness from sin.

  • “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

CONFESS your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Tell others of your trust in God.

  • “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.“ (Romans 10:9-10)
  • “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Are you ready to accept the gift of eternal life through Jesus?

Do you desire to ask Him to be your personal Lord and Savior? In your own words, pray and believe a prayer like this one:

Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the grave so that I might have eternal life in heaven with You. I willingly turn away from my sins and ask You to become Lord of my life. I place all of my trust in You alone. Take control of my words, thoughts, and actions. Amen.
