Worthy of Worship
We were made to worship, and if we don't worship Jesus in spirit and truth, we will worship something else—money, fame, or countless other things. Scripture makes it clear from Genesis to Revelation that we were created to glorify God. Jesus Christ is worthy of our worship for four key reasons. First, as the Son of God, He reflects God's glory, shows exactly what God is like, and holds everything together with His powerful word. He is sovereign, righteous, and immutable.Second, Jesus is the only way to God—our Savior, Mediator, and Advocate. Though we may try to make it politically acceptable that there are other paths to God, Scripture is clear that only through Jesus can we come to the Father. Third, as the Lamb of God mentioned 27 times in Revelation alone, Jesus innocently suffered on our behalf, dying and rising again to give us eternal life. Finally, Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings, with supreme authority over the universe and our lives. God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord.
