Trusting God When We Do Not Understand

Life often confronts us with painful paradoxes—evil goes unpunished, justice is delayed, and the righteous suffer while the wicked seem to thrive. In Ecclesiastes 8, Solomon wrestles with these perplexing realities, reminding us that even wisdom has its limits under heaven. This sermon explores what it means to trust God when life doesn't make sense.

We’ll discover two central truths:
First, that wisdom is valuable when living under human authority—helping us navigate life with discernment and grace (vv. 1–8).
Second, that wisdom is limited under the rule of our sovereign God—because some things are simply beyond human understanding (vv. 9–17).

We’ll also reflect on how injustice—whether committed by leaders (v. 9–10), criminals (v. 12–13), or suffered by the righteous (v. 14)—challenges our faith, yet also invites us into deeper surrender.

The key takeaway: A life fully surrendered to God is the only path by which earthly confusion finds eternal clarity. When we cannot trace God’s hand, we are called to trust His heart. Join us as we learn to rest in the wisdom and sovereignty of the One who sees the whole picture.
