The Heart of Worship

God has always been after our hearts, not our religious works. The difference between religion and relationship is profound - take God out of religion and you're left with empty rituals, but put God at the center through Christ, and you experience true life. Solomon teaches in Ecclesiastes 5 that worship is central to a wise life, focusing on both our walk (how we live) and our words (what we express).True worship begins before we enter the church doors, as we prepare our hearts to meet with God. Solomon advises us to recognize our greatest need is to receive from God, to remember our offerings follow our listening, and to approach God with reverence, acknowledging His holiness. We must also watch our words, avoiding empty promises or procrastination on commitments. Authentic worship is characterized by simplicity and genuineness - sometimes a heartfelt 'thank you' says more than elaborate prayers. This kind of worship keeps us aligned with God's purposes and transforms our relationship with Him.
