MARK 15:16-32

CONTEXT: As Jesus goes to the cross He is mocked four times in this passage.

KEY THOUGHT: The cross of Jesus is foolishness to the world, but it is the power to save for those that believe.

I. The Mockery of the  -(16-20)-“They put a purple robe on Him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on Him.”

II. The Mockery of the  -(29-30)-“Those who passed by hurled insults at Him, shaking their heads…”

III. The Mockery of the  -(31-32a)-“He saved others, they said, ‘but He can’t save Himself!”

IV. The Mockery of the  -(32b)-“Those crucified with Him also heaped insults on Him.”
