THE COMMON MADE HOLY: Part 2

2 TIMOTHY 2:22-26

CONTEXT: The Apostle Paul has instructed Timothy and the believers to separate themselves from those who live in opposition to God (vv. 20-21) and now he speaks about how we are to watch our own lives.

 

KEY THOUGHT: If you want to live a valuable life for the Kingdom, you must watch yourself in two ways. 

 

I. WATCH YOUR   RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD-(v. 22)

 

 

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

 

II. WATCH YOUR   WITH  -(23-26)

 

 

Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments…. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth…” 

 

A. The   of correction is for opponents to have a healthy walk with God-(25)

 

B. The means of them experiencing this is through  -(25) 

 

C.  The   of right living is that one is free from the devil’s control and brought to a sound mind-(26)
