2 TIMOTHY 3:6-9

CONTEXT: The Apostle Paul describes how false teachers reject the Truth and live powerless lives. He says here that false teachers have the appearance of godliness but lack the genuine power of God in their lives (v. 5).

KEY THOUGHT: The end times will be marked by a rejection of Truth which leads to ungodly living.

I. The   of False Teachers-(6a)-“They are the kind who worm their way into homes…”

 -“worm their way into homes”
 -“gain control….”

II. The   of False Teachers-(6b-7)-“…gullible women, who are loaded down with sins…”

A.  - “weak” or “gullible”

B.  - “loaded down with sins”

C.  - “swayed by all kinds of evil desires”

D.  - “always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

III. The   of False Teachers-(8-9)-“Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth.”

A. Those who reject the Truth will be   by God-(8)-“as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected.”

B. Those who are deceptive will be  -(9)-“their folly will be clear to everyone.”
