Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead. It is an outward expression of an inward faith.
God has not left us in the dark about His design for the Church. In this series will discover the principles that help healthy Christians live together in community. The hope of the world is found through healthy churches.
The Bible is a unified story about how God created us in his image, then countered our rebellion with his redemption by sending Jesus. Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s original promise in Genesis to set us free from sin and death - which is good news! (aka: Gospel) Christians have been commissioned to share this powerful Gospel, so this sermon series from the Gospel of John will help us turn our everyday conversations into Gospel conversations.
The word "dedicate" means to set aside or commit to a sacred purpose. These families are committing a child to God and God's purposes for that child. It is a time of commitment where parents promise to raise their children with godly principles. Through this ceremony, families show God, friends, and family that they are willing to take on the responsibility of guiding their children into a relationship with God.
