David currently directs our senior adult (OASIS) ministry, helps with outreach, coordinates visitation (His Feet) ministry to our infirmed & bereaved, plans Wednesday adult discipleship (CLU) ministry, organizes a grief support group and benevolence care, and provides pastoral care including funerals & weddings.
In 1998 David joined the staff at FBCMJ as Associate Pastor/Headmaster of MJCA following twelve years of ministry at First Baptist Church of Central FL, Lock Haven Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Kissimmee. In 2001 FBCMJ ordained David when he transitioned to Pastor of Outreach. In 2010 his role changed to Pastor of Pastoral Care.
He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Tennessee Temple University (education major & Bible minor) and a Master's Degree in educational administration and supervision from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has continued his theological studies through SBC Seminary Extension.
David met the love of his life, Ellen, in college where they married and began a family. The Lord has blessed them with four children - Philip, Grace, Lee and Faith - who are MJCA and college graduates and happily married. David & Ellen enjoy being grandparents to two wonderful grandchildren.
